King Musa Mansa, a 14th Century Malian King has been named the richest
man of all time. A ruler of West Africa’s Malian Dynasty, Musa amassed an
amazing $400billion (didn’t want to put all the zeroes) during his reign from
1312 to 1337, according to a new inflation-adjusted list by celebrity networth.
Musa’s wealth came from his countries vast production of more than half the
World’s supply of salt and gold, according to the Celebrity Net worth’s
conversion of wealth into 2012 dollars.
The story is that his money was lost after his death in 1337, through
invasions and civil war in less than two generations, his net worth was gone. I
wonder what part of the world most of his gold wealth lies…just a thought.
I believe in this present age Africa has the potential to be a hub of wealth
and also protect the wealth for coming generations, by creating opportunities
for its citizenry. Do we still not possess most of the world’s oil, inclusive
of gold and huge mineral, agricultural and human resources? I guess its time for
us to rise and rule.
