Nigerian Government Plans Retaliatory Action Against Britain's £3,000 Visa Bond

THE Federal Government on Tuesday insisted on retaliatory action against British citizens if their government went ahead with its plan to impose a £3, 000 visa bond on visitors from Nigeria and five other Commonwealth countries.
It expressed displeasure that Downing Street, which had already set November as the discriminatory policy’s commencement time, had not deemed it necessary to formally communicate to it on the next step of action.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru, had at a meeting with the British High Commissioner, Andrew Pocock, communicated the desire of Nigeria to retaliate the policy.
I believe it is a totally ridiculous policy and the Federal Government should kick against it with all its might, if not, it might shatter our foreign policy and encourage other countries to disrespect our nationality in a similar manner. Please share your thoughts.

News coming to us has it that Wande Coal has split from his Record Label, Mavin Records to form his own record label. His new song Kilaju is also said to have been recorded under his new label. The story is he left Donjazzy owned Mavin to build his career as an Artise in a bid to maximize his full potential as one of Africa's top Artistes.

Understanding Forex

If you’ve been hearing about Forex trading, it is simply buying or selling currencies.
Placing a trade in the foreign exchange market is simple: the mechanics of a trade are very similar to those found in other markets like the stock market, so if you have any experience in trading, you should be able to pick it up quickly.
The object of forex trading is to exchange one currency for another in the expectation that the price will change, so that the currency you bought will increase in value compared to the one you sold.
Example:

You purchase 10,000 euros at the EUR/USD exchange rate of 1.1800	+10,000	-11,800*
Two weeks later, you exchange your 10,000 euros back into U.S. dollar at the exchange rate of 1.2500	-10,000	+12,500**
You earn a profit of $700	0	+700

*EUR 10,000 x 1.18 = US $11,800
** EUR 10,000 x 1.25 = US $12,500

An exchange rate is simply the ratio of one currency valued against another currency. For example, the USD/NAIRA exchange rate indicates how much NAIRA one US Dollar can purchase, or how many US Dollars one NAIRA can buy.

The Film Adaptation of Chimamanda Adiche's Best Selling Novel 'Half of A Yellow Sun' promises to be an awesome movie. With cast like Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave, Children of Men) and Thandie Newton (Crash, The Pursuit of Happyness) star in this epic chronicle of family ties and tribal violence from celebrated Nigerian playwright Biyi Bandele.

Amid some protest from a section of the Attendees at the MBGN pageant who felt some certain other beauty queen ought to have won, 18 year old Miss Anna Ebiere Banner clinched the crown of the 2013 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria. This Year’s contest supported by Bayelsa State had the MBGN crown going to Miss Bayelsa (talk about being on home turf). We wish her the best as she was also made Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, I ‘m sure she’ll enjoy her tenure. Left to me, she looks really beautiful.

Apple buys Nigerian Chiedu Echeruo's Map Start Up for a possible $1billion

Amazing news for start-up Entrepreneurs! Apple Acquires Nigerian Entrepreneur Chiedu Echeruo’s Map site, Hopstop.com, though the amount involved is undisclosed we believe it won’t be anything less than $50million from a modest estimate, though based on Google’s recent acquisition of Waze an isreali based Map site for $1billion, the figures might just be higher. We’ll definitely keep you posted once the exact figures are released.

Meet Nigeria's Fastest Man Obinna Metu

When Gebrselassie labeled Nigerian sprinter Obinna Metu "a bundle of talent who has a very bright future because he is ready to learn," people began to take notice.

Most of all Metu himself, who as the fastest sprinter in Nigeria at the moment is determined to emulate Gebrselassie's success.

"I want people to be hearing my name, I'd love to be famous," Metu told CNN’s Human to Hero series.

"I'm thinking of a way to develop my name and sports can help me achieve this. I want to let the whole world know that I exist."
